Performs routine technical duties in operating a variety of computer and peripheral equipment used in small to large scale computer systems.
Operates magnetic tape and disk equipment, printers, document inserters, document folding equipment, printers, mass storage equipment, optical scanners, visual display equipment, and other peripheral equipment used in IT Operations.
Prepares equipment for operation by obtaining, loading and unloading magnetic tapes, disks, paper, and storage devices.
Monitors machine operations and/or applications, servers, and computer networks.
Prepares and runs the document insertion and folding equipment.
Removes and prepares output for distribution and mailing.
Assists in maintaining required records.
Performs routine maintenance operations on all equipment.
Operates small and large scale computers during routine production or conversion runs.
Participates in formal and on-the-job training.
Performs other related work as assigned.
Regular, predictable attendance as employee has to physically be in the office.

Equipment: Computer keyboard.
High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT operations required.
Demonstrated work experience operating Computer Operations
Peripheral equipment to include: the operation, care and adjustment of computer peripheral equipment, general information technology processing principles, and computer operating and monitoring techniques.
Training in Information Technology concepts and operating system concepts, hardware component and operating system operation.
Technical education on Mainframe and/or Distributed Platform’s.
Ability to work quickly under pressure and make decisions to meet deadlines.
Ability to serve as a team lead and informally supervise and train others.
Ability to follow complex verbal and written directions.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
Ability to think logically to comprehend information technology system requirements and programming principles, and to apply these principles to the operation of a computer or process.
DESIRED TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
JCL (Job Control Language) that controls Batch programs on an MVS system.
TSO and ISPF (Time Sharing Option and Interactive System Productivity Facility) to interact with Scheduler, Rerun/Restart Software, dataset maintenance, and miscellaneous utilities.
MVS abend codes and JCL errors. On call availability.
