    The Social Media Intern will assist with daily monitoring and management of social media channels, content publication, an ongoing social media content migration project, and other related functions.  The right person for this job is a passionate team player who gets excited at the opportunity to help launch a billion-dollar company onto a major social media platform.  This intern can expect to gain valuable experience in the social media space while working on a small-but-impactful communications team. 

     

    This is a part-time internship for the Summer of 2018.  This position is located at our State Office in Louisville, KY.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist Digital Communications Specialist with social media migration project.
    • Assist with answering social media inquiries.
    • Assist with implementing, streamlining, and improving social media processes.
    • Maintain good relations with the company and the public.
    • Represent the Communications Department in a positive and professional manner.
    • Provide courteous, helpful response to all requests for assistance.
    • Regular, predictable attendance as employee must physically be in the office for work.

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS

    • Physical demands: Normal vision/hearing (with or without correction); Sitting/Mobility; Speaking.
    • Mental demands: Prolonged concentration; Analytical reasoning.
    • Environmental factors: Standard office lighting, temperature and noise.
    • Equipment: Computer software; Keyboard; Telephone; Copier.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Currently enrolled in college level coursework. Preferred majors: Communications, Digital Advertising, English, Marketing, or a related field.
    • Knowledge of and interest in the digital media landscape.
    • Demonstrated ability to handle large responsibilities with a high level of professionalism.
    • Excellent writing, typing, and proofreading skills.
    • Ability to communicate with a high level of skill both orally and in writing.
    • Ability to make timely decisions.
    • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Excel and Word.
    • Experience with social media management software preferred.
    • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud products preferred.
    • Excellent human relation skills and self-motivation required.
    • Ability to act in a confidential manner.
