  • Overview

    The main functions consist of the daily honoring of all company checks and the balancing of funds as they are transferred between banks in payment of these checks, producing stop payment transactions, report and check distributions. Participate in all phases of premium processing by verifying and posting receipts and balance daily closeout figures.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS                                                                                                                        

    • Balance the daily honored check report to the amount of the bank charge for all claim accounts.
    • Review and produce all stop payment transactions for the claim checks on the bank and the claims system within required timeframe.
    • Daily processing all manual Returned Premium checks by matching to required paperwork and distributing to appropriate people.
    • Verify multiple payments by researching ARMS and applying correct payments to the correct policies.
    • Able to analyze the policy and become an accurate decision maker when payments are out of balance.
    • Research and review requests for check status inquiries/copies of checks when required.
    • Process mortgage company checks across multiple policies verifying name and amount.
    • Prepare bank total information daily to investments for cash flow management.
    • Balance and maintain daily a monthly Excel control log of all checks honored.
    • Keep log on manual claim checkbooks returned from claim offices.
    • Manually honor claim checks when needed (exception processing).
    • Post customers payments by processing checks and credit card payments.
    • Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
    • Perform as backup for various accounting positions.
    • Regular, predictable attendance as employee has to physically be in the office.

    • Equipment: Keyboard; Telephone; Calculator; Copier; Personal Computer.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma.
    • Proficiency with calculator.
    • Basic keyboarding skills.
    • Interest in problem solving.
    • Proficiency on calculator.
    • Excel Experience
    • Ability to work well with others, both inside and outside organization.
