  • Overview

    Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and installing to support an organization’s Java/J2EE applications.  Works with project members to develop specifications, diagrams and flowcharts. Has knowledge of commonly-used programming and design concepts, practices, and procedures.  Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. 


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS                                                             

    From detailed to general specifications, writes new programs or modify existing programs following published standards.

    Analysis and technical design of single unit to small efforts of work.

    Prepares all elements of program documentation according to published standards.

    Tests all code thoroughly following standard guidelines.

    Acquires new skills and strengthen existing skills in standard languages and operations requirements through successful completion of provided training and assignments.

    Fulfills administrative reporting requirements.

    Regular, predictable attendance.

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES                    

    Participates in the analysis of basic system and project requirements.

    Keeps informed on technology and industry trends and developments.

    Researches and resolves minor incident reports under the direction of others.


    JOB SPECIFICATIONS                              

    Physical demands: Sitting; Normal hearing/vision (with or without correction);

    Mental demands: Prolonged concentration; Analytical reasoning.

    Environmental factors: Standard office lighting, temperature, and noise.

    Equipment: Personal computer.




    Bachelor's degree in process. Computer Sciences or related area of study preferred.

    Classroom exposure or entry level experience in JAVA, JavaScript, HTML and XML strongly preferred. Other related object oriented development experience may be substituted.

    Classroom exposure or entry level experience in J2EE, WSAD/WAS/RAD preferred.

    Effective communication skills – verbal, written, and listening.
