The Accounting Operations team is responsible for supporting both customer-facing and internal-facing accounting and reporting initiatives and processes. The Accounting Operations Specialist 1 will work closely with the Cash Operations Supervisor, providing support to the business along with implementing operational efficiencies. Responsibilities of this role will include all aspects of Accounts Receivable transactions and processes.
Support the Cash Operations Supervisor in the automation of financial processes in the most efficient and accurate manner.
Process customer payments and transmit totals, prepare daily bank deposits, and balance and summarize controls weekly and/or monthly as needed.
Maintain claims honored error and stop pay processes and reporting, as well as maintain spreadsheet for manual claim checkbooks.
Research and respond to requests for payment status, check status, copies of KYFB issued checks, and copies of customer payments when required.
Process return check transactions, maintain support spreadsheets, and submit weekly return check deposits.
Research and maintain W-9 and 1099 forms/filings with the IRS and in KYFB systems.
Maintain processes around payment deletions, credit card reversals and refunds, and reconciliations for those transactions.
Perform Agency Office bank account reconciliations monthly.
Ensure high standard of customer service is met to effectively answer questions and assist County and State Office staff.
Assist other Operations Specialists as back-up in their absence.
Perform special projects as assigned.
Ensure KYFB’s Guiding Principles are being reflected in all aspects of workflow.
