Greets and maintains a sign-in log of all visitors.  




Provide first impression exemplary Customer Service for Kentucky Farm Bureau to all that enter the building

Sign in all visitors and informs the proper company personnel of their arrival.

Maintains a Cash Box for insurance premium or membership payments.

The receptionist answers incoming calls at the company switchboard and connects them with the proper


Support the Claims department as needed with general inquiry calls as necessary from calls received on the 800 line.

Provides support for event check in when appropriate

Regular, predictable attendance.

Additional duties assigned such as addressing invitations, badges, and company Christmas cards as requested.

Work off-site at Federation sponsored functions such as the annual convention and state fair.

Informs the guard and other affected departments of scheduled meeting events to ensure a smooth arrival of visitors.

Schedules alternate switchboard personnel to cover absences and daily rotations.




Physical demands: Ability to operate 100-button Switchboard Console; Normal vision/hearing (with or without correction); Speaking; Reading (message display on switchboard console); Sitting.

Mental demands: Heavy volume during peak hours; Able to handle multiple tasks at a time; Patience to handle frequent interruptions by visitors.

Environmental factors: Standard office lighting, temperature, and noise.

Equipment: Switchboard console (100-button).


High school diploma or GED.

Effective communication skills and ability to organize.

General knowledge of company personnel and departments preferred.

Business appearance to project good public image.

Good telephone etiquette and pleasant personality.
