Overview

The Talent Services Manager position will be responsible for managing human capital strategies to maintain a highly effective workforce through the following responsibilities, including but not limited to: 1) employee and agent recruitment 2) co-op and internship programs 3) employee retention through events and initiatives and 4) special projects as assigned. This position will also supervise the work of the Recruiting Specialists. 

Responsibilities

Develop and conduct activities related to the recruitment of internal and external applicants, including: internal posting program, external posting program, creating recruitment ads, prescreening applicants, interviewing, checking references, recommending prospective employees for employment, and making job offers to selected candidates.

Develop and maintain relationships with colleges, universities, and other educational institutions to create mutually beneficial relationships for students and Kentucky Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company through co-op and internship programs. 

Develop applicant assessment strategies for employee and agent recruiting.

Develop recruitment strategies for employee and agent recruiting.

Attend job fairs as a representative of Kentucky Farm Bureau to help recruit employees and agents. 

Solicits feedback from new employees on the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding process and shares the feedback and ideas with the Talent Service and HR team.

Monitors employee turnover and conducts exit interviews to identify any trends.

Follow up and research any potential trends or issue uncovered during the exit interview process and recommend solutions to bolster employee retention.

Work with Agency Support and Marketing to recruit Agent candidates for the Agency Force.

Responsible for social media recruitment through LinkedIn, Facebook, and all other KFB Insurance media channels.

Oversee all contracts and payments for recruitment tools, subscriptions, and software.

Serve as the primary contact for external recruiting firms when needed for hard to fill positions.

Keeps HR Director informed on the status of open positions, hard to fill positions, new additions to staff, and any external recruiting firm engagements.

Collaborate with Communications Department to keep the kyfb.com career web page information page up to date and engaging.

Collaborate with Communications and Benefits departments to update and regularly refresh employee recruitment materials.  

Facilitate the quarterly New Employee Orientation and make updates as required.

Oversee the first day Employee Orientation process and make updates and improvements as needed.

Serve as a working manager in the recruiting role and actively work open positions while overseeing the work of the recruiting specialists. 

Complete annual appraisals for employees and work with each individual to set and achieve workplace goals.

Works with external immigration attorney to oversee the company visa sponsorship program and immigration activities required for potential and current employees to receive H1B work visas.

Works with external immigration attorney to oversee the H1-B extension and green card process for current KFB employees.

Administer the company’s relocation program and coordinate relocation activities with employees, moving companies, apartment complexes, etc.

Serve as a role model and leader to those in HR&SS as well as throughout the organization. 

Create monthly HR headcount report.

Provide exceptional customer service to all internal and external HR customers.

Regular, predictable attendance as employee has to physically be in the office.

Other Responsibilities

 

Assist the Federation with internal and external recruitment.

Keeps abreast of all federal and state law changes which affect the workplace.

Participates in professional human resource organizations to keep current on recruiting and retention practices.

Process employee departures, exit interview documents, and maintain termination files.

Maintain online version of Kentucky Farm Bureau Employee Handbook on KNET.

May be assigned to projects as needed.

 

Job Specifications

 

Physical demands: Normal vision/hearing (with or without correction); Speaking;

Lifting (not to exceed 20 lbs.); Occasional driving; Occasional in-state travel and evening/weekend work hours.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.

PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred. 

Previous experience in human resources with recruiting experience preferred.

Excellent communication skills: public speaking, business writing, and interpersonal communication.

Ability to perform well under limited supervision and make sound decisions.

Must be able to work in an environment requiring strict confidentiality.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Supportive attitude toward company and its employees.

Knowledge of federal and state laws governing recruitment and selection.

Must be self-starter and possess strong organizational skills.
