Reports to: Claim Services Manager
Job Status: Hourly (20 – 38.5 hours per week)
Pay: $15.00 per hour
Location: On-site at KFB State Office in Louisville, KY
Term: August 2025 to December 2025 (term may be extended by mutual agreement of intern and hiring manager)
This position will work in a support role to the claims department providing assistance with subrogation and salvage recoveries, outgoing correspondence and telephone coverage. Position will allow for exposure to claim projects, reporting and claim handling procedures. The assistance of this position will insure effective and efficient processing of subrogation files and claim handling.
Review/verify report and recovery checks from Imaging to match to proper Subrogation Owners.
Disperse Subrogation checks to Subrogation Specialists.
Assist with managing incoming total loss salvage checks received to be applied to a claim and document.
Assist with attorney and outgoing correspondence
Assist answering telephone, direct calls, and handling inquiries and provide assistance where appropriate or refer to other staff as appropriate.
During catastrophes provide assistance including serving as a catastrophe team member or assisting in the state at field offices as needed.
Maintain salvage and subrogation data.
Review and assist with organization of claim data analytics
Participate as a Claim Project team member
Assist throughout other areas of the organization as needed
Maintain good relations with the company and the public.
Represent the legal and claim department in a positive and professional manner.
Provide courteous, helpful response to all requests for assistance.
Regular, predictable attendance as employee has to physically be in the office.

High school diploma required. Must currently be enrolled in college courses.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and claims related software programs.
Good typing, proofreading and math skills.
Ability to communicate with high level of skill both orally and in writing.
Ability to make timely decisions.
Excellent human relation skills and self-motivation required.
Ability to act in a confidential manner.
