Overview

*This internship is for the Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation*

 

Reports to: Director, Field Service Division, and Director, Young Farmer Program.

Compensation: A stipend of $5,000, to be paid at a rate of $500 per week for a total of 10 weeks.

Location: On-site at KFB State Office in Louisville, KY.

Term: May 2026 to July 2026.

Application Deadline: December 12, 2025.

Responsibilities

Field Staff Responsibilities:

 

Attend county board meetings to learn about county Farm Bureau functions.

Assist in creating resources to support county Farm Bureaus.

Collaborate with Area Program Directors to support county Farm Bureaus.

 

Young Farmer Responsibilities:

 

Participate in the planning and execution of the Murray State University and the University of Kentucky Institute for Future Agricultural Leaders (IFAL) Conferences.

Create and present a leadership development workshop for a youth audience.

Assist with preparations and attend the 2026 Young Farmer Summer Outing.

Create resources for Young Farmer programming may include Collegiate Farm Bureau, Harvest for All, County Young Farmer Committees, etc.

 

Internal Relationships:

 

Reports to the Director, Field Service Division, and Director, Young Farmer Program

 

External Relationships:

 

Has contact with various Kentucky Farm Bureau staff and affiliate company personnel.

Develops and maintains contacts with Kentucky Farm Bureau volunteer leaders.

Qualifications

Junior, Senior or Graduate School.

Must have reliable transportation.

Strong work ethic.

Strong writing and verbal skills.

 

Time Requirements:

 

Available May – July 2026.

Approximately 20-30 hours per week.

Evening, weekend and in-state travel required.
